Cougars Register Six Goals in Win Over Pottsdam

After a disapponting loss to Pottsdam at home on Saturday the Cougars rallied for a 6-3 victory the following afternoon this past weekend. Dawson Bancroft-Short scored four goals while Leah McNaughton added two more. Sara Forbes had five assists and  Ashley Reid collected two more. Brenn Scott stopped 33 shots in goal for the Cougars.

Cougars Split Series with Oswego in Exciting Overtime Win!

Pittsburgh, PA – For the second consecutive weekend, the Chatham University women’s ice hockey team earned a split, this time against visiting Oswego State University.

In Saturday’s opening contest, Oswego scored the first five goals of the game, before Chatham’s Lauren Campbell netted an unassited goal to make the final score 5-1.

The Cougars rebounded on Sunday, trailing 3-2 early in the third period, Campbell tied the score with her second goal of the game less than four minutes to play, and then Sara Forbes netted the unassitted game-winner 3:46 into overtime to secure a 4-3 victory. Brenn Scott stopped 48 shots in net for the victory.

Chatham improves to 3-14-1 overall, and 3-9 in the ECAC Women’s West. The Cougars return to action this weekend when they host Potsdam State in a pair of conference contests. Saturday’s game is set to start at 7:00 PM with a 2:00 PM start on Sunday. Both games will be played at the campus of Shady Side Academy.

Lauren Campbell, a previous ECAC-West “Player of the Week” was named to the ECAC-West “Honor Roll” for her efforts in the  two games.

Chatham Spilts Road Series With Buffalo State

After a 8-2 loss on Saturday Chatham rallied for a 4-1 win against Buffalo on the road Sunday.

Chatham Drops Road Games to #5 RIT

Four Gilmour Academy (Gates Mills, OH) grads took the ice at RIT (pictured below) for two games at RIT this past weekend. RIT maintained their current winning streak at home with wins both Staurday and Sunday. Despite a shortened bench, Chatham looks to improve it’s record with a road win next week at Buffalo.

Cougars Show Strong Effort in 4-1 Loss to Elmira

The Chatham Cougars kept this game close until the 3rd period when back to back penalties gave Elmira two power play scoring chances (5-on-3 and 5-on-4). That put the game out of reach for the Cougars  late in the 3rd period.

Cougars Scoreless against top ranked Elmira

Cougars went without a  goal in a 7-0 loss to Elimira. After trailing 2-0 after one period, Chatham held Elmira in the 2nd period. However the 3rd period saw the Cougars giving up two short-handed goals.

The two teams meet again  on Sunday  at 2:00 PM.

Cougars Shut out by Visiting Bulldogs

Chatham fell 0-4 to the Bulldogs of Adrian (MI) Sunday afternoon at Shady Side Academy Arena. Shana Davis – former Gilmour Academy (OH) teammate of Chatham players Lauren Campbell and Ashley Reid – had her first collegiate goal and an assist in the game.  Check out the game photos!

The Cougars play host to Elmira next weekend.

Chatham Drops Home Game in OT to St. Kate’s

Chatham lost 3-2 in OT against the St. Catherine’s (MN) Wildcats in a hard fought battle that saw penalties and injuries. The two teams face-off again  on Saturday at Mellon Arena at 7:30 PM.
