Cougars Split Series with Oswego in Exciting Overtime Win!

Pittsburgh, PA – For the second consecutive weekend, the Chatham University women’s ice hockey team earned a split, this time against visiting Oswego State University.

In Saturday’s opening contest, Oswego scored the first five goals of the game, before Chatham’s Lauren Campbell netted an unassited goal to make the final score 5-1.

The Cougars rebounded on Sunday, trailing 3-2 early in the third period, Campbell tied the score with her second goal of the game less than four minutes to play, and then Sara Forbes netted the unassitted game-winner 3:46 into overtime to secure a 4-3 victory. Brenn Scott stopped 48 shots in net for the victory.

Chatham improves to 3-14-1 overall, and 3-9 in the ECAC Women’s West. The Cougars return to action this weekend when they host Potsdam State in a pair of conference contests. Saturday’s game is set to start at 7:00 PM with a 2:00 PM start on Sunday. Both games will be played at the campus of Shady Side Academy.

Lauren Campbell, a previous ECAC-West “Player of the Week” was named to the ECAC-West “Honor Roll” for her efforts in the  two games.
