PITTSBURGH, PA (March 6, 2010) . . . Chatham University sophomore forward Lauren Campbell (Erie, PA/Gilmour Academy) was selected as honorable mention last week for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women’s West 2009-10 All-Conference Team.
Campbell played in 21 games this season, and was tied for first on the team in goals scored with 11. She also tallied 9 assists for a total of 20 points on the season. So far for her career, the sophomore has appeared in 45 games, scored 19 goals, and dished out 13 assists for a total of 32 points. She also now ranks third in program history for career points, behind teammate Leah McNaughton (Embro, Ontario/Stratford Aces) and Abby Greenbaum in 2004-05, who holds the record at 39.
Chatham finished their season this year with a conference record of 3-13-2 and an overall record of 5-15-3 – the most victories in a season in school history for the program.

Pittsburgh, PA (02/20/2010) In their last game of the season Chatham came back after a disappointing 6-4 loss yesterday to win with a short bench today. The 4-3 win saw forward Lauren Campbell involved on each of the Cougars 4 goals. Campbell netted 2 unassisted goals – one being short-handed game-winner a full strength goal and an assist on Leah McNaughton’s goal. This marked her first collegiate hat trick.
Chatham faced off in their final two contests of the 2009-10 season this weekend against visiting Neumann College in Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) action. In their first meeting, the Cougars fought back from an early deficit but were unable to come out with the victory and lost 6-4. In Saturday’s contest, the Cougars held on to earn the victory with a final score of 4-3. Campbell put the Cougars on the board early with an unassisted goal in the third minute of the first period. Three minutes later Neumann answered with a goal of their own. Chatham would take the lead before the end of the first period on a second goal by Campbell in the 18th minute. Neumann again tied the score early in the second period, but Chatham answered with two more goals before the end of the second 20 minutes of play. Sophomore forward McNaughton scored off of a Campbell assist and Campbell scored her third goal -a hat trick- on a short-handed situation for the Cougars. Chatham (5-15-3, 3-13-2) finished the contest with 38 shots on goal to Neumann’s 35. Senior goalkeeper Brenn Scott finished the weekend with a total of 72 saves in two games. Scott was also named third star in the game on Saturday, while Campbell was named first star. The Cougars finish this season with a total of five wins – the most wins in a season ever for the program. The previous record was four wins in the 2008-09 season.
According to other sources: Leah McNaughton who with her goal became the first ever Chatham player to record 20 career goals (as a sophomore she is already the leading career point producer at Chatham). McNaughton and Lauren Campbell are the first ever Chatham players to record 20 points in a season, which both have done this year.

Five graduates of the Cleveland, Ohio prep school – Gilmour Academy – met on the ice at Shadyside Academy in an ECAC West match-up on Sunday Feb. 7th. GA Alumni included Chatham University sophomores Lauren Campbell (GA ‘08) and Ashley Reid (GA’08) and RIT team members Kayla Ross (GA’08), Amy Torgerson (GA’08) and Missy Hall (GA’06). RIT took the win over the Cougars 7-1. The two teams play a make-up game on Monday at noon due to Saturday’s game being canceled because of severe winter weather in Pittsburgh.

(11/16/2010 Pittsburgh, PA) Despite a late 3rd period score of 3-1 the Cougars fought back with 2 goals – the final coming on a 6 on 4 powerplay with mere seconds remaining in regulation. The OT period ended with Cougars and Buffalo State Bengals deadlocked at 3-3. The 2 teams will meet again Sunday 11/17/10 at 2 PM. All game photos to follow!
